[MassChestnutOrchards] River Bend Farm Orchard

This morning I applied osmocote fertilizer to the seedlings at the River Bend Farm Orchard in Uxbridge. Most of the seedlings have started to leaf out. The leaves were up to about an inch long. Some frost damage was present on the tips of the new leaves. When I went to the West Upton coffee shop at 6:00 AM on both 4/24 & 25 there was frost on some cars. I had 31.7 degrees at home on the 25 th. I do not think the frost damage is serious and will not be a problem unless we get freezing temps in the next two weeks.
Due to record high temps this spring, the trees are ten or more days ahead of normal .
