Dear Chestnuters, I'm sure it is better for our chapter and the
mission of TACF that I'm replaced by a new member such as Bruce
Spencer, an experienced forestry professional, an impressive, hard
working retiree and a wonderful human being.

However, I think you should consider designating former members of
the Board as Honorary Members of the Board, or some other designation
that gives the message: you are no longer a voting member, but we
welcome your attendance at meetings, assisting

with your perspective (one of the few special things we elders can
offer) and any other assistance. My wife was designated an Honorary
Director at the Massachusetts Audubon Society when she had served her
term and has been welcomed at MAAudubon

Board meetings for some years now. We have the feeling that our
contributions to the MA Audubon Society continue to be welcomed.
Please consider this suggestion. I'm hopeful the organization will
grow not wilt!

Sincerely yours, Frank P.S. What does the report of the expedition
to China mean to our chapter?
