[MassChestnutOrchards] Blue X Shelters

Charlotte and I had noted that the Blue-X shelters needed to be removed from the trees at the Mass. Fish and Wildlife orchard. I removed most of them today. It proved to be a tough job. I had to dig to get at the bottom of the light plastic tube and the slit it with a " box cutter " pull hard and twist it out and twist out the ridged plastic sheet. Several of them were held tight by the roots. 

The tubes were restricting the growth of the trees. Many of the trees stems did not fill the tubes but the root collars did on many. There has been good mowing at the orchard and no vole problem.
