Hello folks,
I would like to apply for some of National's grant funding for the
Glocester & SKLT/MG orchards this spring. Deadline is May 8, I leave on
a trip May 6.
**SPECIFIC PUMP INFORMATION FOR BUDGET IS NEEDED**
In order to complete the application, I need more information about
pumps; SKLT/MG may use a battery-powered one but they are still planning
their irrigation system.
Both pumps will add pressure to water coming from a tank; probably we
can't get the tanks high enough to pressurize the water through the
hoses, just by gravity.
Both are 2-line orchards, I can probably get a bit more length
information if needed.
Here is the info from Kendra & Daphne on the grant application.
#1 IS THE MOST IMPORTANT

------------------------------------------------------
How to apply for this funding:
1) Prepare a proposal for submission by May 8th, 2009. Include a brief
narrative outlining use and need of the funds along with a detailed
budget for the proposal on a separate sheet. The budget should only
include funds spent between January 1, 2009 and December 31, 2009.
Include the names and contact information for: Administrative Contact
(who should be contacted regarding proposal award), Principal
Investigator (the main contact for coordinating the project in the
field), Financial Contact (Chapter Treasurer), Authorized Official for
Chapter (typically the Treasurer or President, as people authorized to
sign on behalf of the chapter).
2) Submit proposals no later than May 8, by e-mail, to President and CEO
Bryan Burhans(bryan at acf.org), with copies to grant and accounting staff:
Daphne Van Schaick (daphne at acf.org), and Dennis Kimball
(dennis at acf.org).
3) TACF will review the proposals and notify chapters by May 31, 2009
(dependent on the timing of the award notice from the Forest Service
being received by that date) whether or not they will receive funding.
Funding depends on the number of proposals received and the final award
amount and
award conditions TACF receives from the Forest Service.
4) Because the money is Federal, recipients will receive from TACF, and
will have to sign a subaward agreement sent to them by TACF, certifying
that the funds will be spent according to Forest Service terms and
conditions in
order to receive reimbursement of costs per their proposal. A sample
of
this agreement is attached for review only. TACF will fill this out for
chapters when funded, consisting of 1) Subaward Agreement, 2) Attachment
1 - Certifications, 3) Attachment 2 - the award to TACF from USFS, 4)
Attachment 3 - TACF and Collaborator contacts 4) Attachment 4, reporting
requirements 5) Attachment 4 - Proposal being funded. TACF will
prepare
the Subaward Agreement and Attachments and send to the chapter for
signature to finalize the award.
